College Bookstores Should Be Against the Law

I've been doing really well with posting, and I'm going to try to keep it up, even though this post will not have any knitting.

Except! I am a couple of rounds away from finishing the sleeves (so very close to starting the yoke!), and look at this! I designed that mitten, and someone knit it! I think she's hasn't done the thumbs, but still! Awesome!

Really, what this post is about is the bookstore. College bookstores everywhere. Market-wise, they know what they're doing, but if you're a college student (I don't even pay for my books, my mom is very nice and buys them for me) the bookstore screws you over. Last semster (my first ever, so this mistake is forgiven) my mom and I bought all the books I needed at the bookstore. This semester, about eight days before I went back to school, I ordered some used books from Amazon marketplace (I choose people with 100% or a little less satisfaction.), but, one book ended up being cheaper at the bookstore. So I waited, and today I went and bought it. It was $30 more dollars than I expected, and $30 more dollars then I could have gotten it online for (the theory was that I was going to have to pay for shipping...). It's not that big of a deal, because I'm getting a refund and it'll cover the extra cost, but still.

Moral of the story? ALWAYS buy from individual sellers (borders, amazon and barnes and noble have a "market" type of thing) - most likely college kids also, so it's a win win. Also, this semester, I'm sharing books with a friend, I had one of the books we need, and she had the other!

Sorry, I just hate the bookstore.
