Silk and Socks

A couple things to update.

1. I started a little shawl. Well, a kerchief. My aunt gave me some silk last April that she had spun, and I always thought it would make a lovely scarf, but I had two colors.

But the Silk Kerchief pattern is perfect, it has stripes in it! I used a size 2 because this is laceweight not fingering weight.

2. Mckayla is making a sock. This is sock #2, but she didn't finish the first, due to dropped sts, etc. But! Knitpicks to the rescue (I shared my last knitpicks order with her) and she bought three pairs of sock yarn and some needles (for under $25!).

Lovely, huh? I'm so proud. Last time she turned a heel, she yelled at me (she's an emotional person) and told me this was most definitely not fun. This time, she told me "Wow, this is really fun, huh?". I win!
I'm knitting away on those green socks for mike, and I think I'm 2 or 3" away from the heel.

Wow, lovely sock. Tell Mckayla that she's going along really well, and sock number two is lovely =).

Pretty kerchief. I'll bet it's very soft.

Hey! Guess what I got Monday! A post box! Still up for that Malabrigo swap? I could send you some Manos Del Uruguay- have you knit with it?

hey, can we play the game of "making socks" and can you win? cuz I fear the heel. Like the boogieman.
