Swifts, Mitts and Rhinebeck!

My sister's birthday party was the other night, and my grandfather brought something with him that I had asked him to make but didn't expect so soon!

It's made out of maple, and it has an extra dowel in case I loose one. I wound a skein of laceweight so fast! It was wonderful. (But this will made me want to start more projects!)

Oh, and here's a picture of the armwarmers I'm making.

The pattern is called Sleekit Mitts, and I absolutely love it. It'll match the Damson, and I want to finish them by this weekend so I can wear them in Newport (I'm going with mike's family, and it's our fourth anniversary!), and of course Rhinebeck! (this is my first year going, I'm so excited.) I've been stalking the Rhinebeck discussion boards, and I'm excited and nervous. I know it's huge, but I'm still worried that I'll be bored, but I doubt that'll happen. And I'm really excited for the ravelry party afterwards!

That looks like something my grandpa would also like making. Maybe I'll have to show it to him. :)

Those mitts look so great. I like the pattern at the cuff. I might just have to make these too.
